A familiar story: a business pays for a new website, launches it, and the contact form stays quiet. Some traffic arrives, but serious commercial enquiries do not.

When we review underperforming sites, the problem is rarely the design. It is usually speed, search intent, proof and friction.

1. Fix speed and Core Web Vitals

Slow mobile pages lose visitors before they read a headline. Heavy themes, uncompressed images and stacks of third-party scripts are the usual causes. Google's Core Web Vitals measure loading, stability and responsiveness, and they feed into rankings. A lean, server-rendered build keeps pages fast — see our web development approach.

2. Match commercial intent, not just volume

Broad articles attract people who will never buy. Content built around specific problems attracts buyers with budgets. Structure the site around:

  • One service page per distinct offering.
  • Industry pages showing relevant experience.
  • Case studies covering the problem, approach and result.

3. Show proof, not slogans

B2B buyers are cautious. "Innovative and passionate" builds no confidence; real projects do. Name the client and sector, describe what was built, and link to live work — as we do across our portfolio.

4. Remove conversion friction

Check your contact route:

  • Ask only for name, email, phone and a short description.
  • Show phone and email clearly on every page.
  • Give each page one obvious next step.
  • Say how quickly you respond.

5. Get indexing and structured data right

Search engines and AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Gemini rely on clean structure to understand a business: consistent canonical URLs, an accurate sitemap, and Organization and Service structured data. Technical SEO belongs in the foundations, not bolted on at the end. For leads while SEO builds, paid search can fill the gap.
